Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Winter Debate Camp 2026
Running in the winter school holidays, the non-residental camp promises to be bigger and better than ever before! The camp will consist of matter sessions on recurring debating themes, workshops to improve debating and public speaking skills and offer students the chance to participate in multiple debates and to receive feedback from experienced adjudicators.
Registration for the Winter Debate Camp 2026 is now open.
Please register via this form for Year 7-8 and via this form for Years 9-10 by 4pm, Wednesday 1st July.
Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available and students are encouraged to register early to guarantee their place. If you would like to be added to our mailing list and be notified as soon as registration opens please e-mail debater@dav.com.au.
Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email and an invoice will be sent to you. All payments should be finalised within a week of registration.
Students will benefit from watching and discussing an exhibition debate and attending sessions focused on improving their debating skills. They will then put these skills into practice in debates against fellow attendees.

Who: Students in Years 7-10
Cost: $340 per student for the 3-day program, $260 for 2 days or $135 for single day registrations, inclusive of lunch.
