Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
We are excited to be offering an in person Debate Camps for Years 9-12 students in the Easter holidays.
Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available and students are encouraged to register early to guarantee their place. If you cannot attend but would like to be added to our mailing list for future camps please e-mail debater@dav.com.au.
Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email and consent form. Invoices will be sent on receipt of consent forms. All payments should be finalised by Friday 8 April.
Students will benefit attending sessions focused on improving their debating skills. They will then put these skills into practice in debates against fellow attendees.
We are offering flexible registration. Students can attend the whole program or a combination of 1 or 2 days.
The program is open to students in year 9-12 with little to no understanding of debating.

Cost: $330 per student for the 3-day program or $130 for single day registrations, inclusive of lunch.

This camp is an intermediate program, open to students in years 9-12 with at least one year of previous debating experience.
The non-residential camp will run from 9am-4pm each day and will consist of seminars on recurring debating themes, workshops to improve debating and public speaking skills, and the chance to participate in multiple debates to receive feedback from experienced adjudicators.
