Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It
is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for
adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and
resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Registration - 2026 Teacher In-service
The DAV Teacher Inservice is for school teachers, librarians, debating coordinators, and anyone interested in debating.

The program will be held on Friday 27 February at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, Little Collins St, Melbourne.
Sessions will cover:
- Introduction to Debating
- Introduction to Adjudication
- Advanced Debating Strategy
PRICING INFORMATION
$285 if attending all 3 sessions.
$205 for any two sessions.
$125 for single sessions.
Teacher resources, arrival tea/coffee, morning tea and lunch provided for all attendees.
Discounts available for multiple staff from the same school.

PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
A session will also be run in the afternoon of Friday 27 February providing an introduction to debating specifically for primary school teachers. Primary teachers are welcome to also attend the sessions targeted at secondary teachesr also if they wish.

- Introduction to Debating - TBC, 4:30pm-6pm
- Advanced Debating Strategy - TBC, 4:30pm-6pm
