Welcome to the DAV Website
The DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate. It is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for adults and for schools across Victoria. It provides training and resources for debaters, teachers and adjudicators.
Running over three days in the spring school holidays , the non-residental camp promises to be bigger and better than ever before! In addition to matter sessions on recurring debating themes, workshops to improve debating and public speaking skills, the camp will offer students the chance to participate in multiple debates and to receive feedback from experienced adjudicators.
The camp will offer lots of new training and activities from previous debate camps so students are welcome to attend the camp even if they have previously done so. Students will benefit from watching and critiquing an exhibition debate and attending sessions focused on improving manner and rebuttal, two of the more difficult areas to improve on.
The cost to attend will be $180 per student for the 3 day program, inclusive of lunch and morning tea.
